Alaska Applied Sciences, Inc.

Alaska Applied Sciences, Inc. (AASI) was founded as a C-corp in 1990 in Juneau, Alaska, by Bill Leighty and Nancy Waterman for:

  • Renewable energy systems R&D
  • Innovation in science education

Nancy is an experienced elementary teacher, including volunteer programs at the Marie Drake Planetarium in Juneau and five years as director of the Southeast Alaska High School Science Fair.

Bill is an EE and MBA, enjoying hands-on electrical and mechanical systems design and maintenance. He enjoys whole-systems imagination and analysis, especially for energy, guided by his experience.
